BYRON BAY BLUESFEST will be going ahead in 2021 with an all-Australian lineup – the first in the festival’s 32-year history.
“With Australia’s international border restrictions in place, we must officially announce that the international artists previously included on our 2021 lineup will not appear at Bluesfest next Easter,” festival organisers said in a Facebook post.
“In our First Artist Announcement in July we advised, should international artists not be able to perform at the Bluesfest 2021 event, we will present you with the finest ALL-AUSSIE lineup, and we believe we have delivered.”
The COVID-19 pandemic had previously cancelled Bluesfest’s original 2020 plans, which included Crowded House, Alanis Morrissette, Patti Smith and Dave Matthews Band – it was the first time the event had ever been cancelled.
The all-Australian lineup will now feature the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley, Ziggy Alberts, The Teskey Brothers, John Butler, Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire, Kasey Chambers, The Church, The Waifs, Jon Stevens, John Williamson, Ian Moss, The Living End, The Angels, Russell Morris, Briggs, Ash Grunwald, Kate Miller-Heidke and many more.
The event is more than 70 percent sold out. The event will be held from April 1-5 2021, at Tyagarah Tea Farm, Byron Bay. Tickets and info can be found here.
