American hard rock four-piece juggernaut Halestorm are set to perform a run of four shows in Australia next month. Sadly due to a family emergency the previously announced main support for the Australian Tour, Black Stone Cherry have been forced to pull out. But don’t fret, because NZ alternative Rock outfit Villainy have stepped up to the plate to join what promises to be an epic rock show!
Halestorm were only recently in Australia performing at Australia’s second annual Download Festival in March this year, and now they’re back to treat fans with their own headline tour. Fans can expect to hear recent release Vicious among several other tracks from the band’s impressive discography.
Since their inception in 1998, Halestorm have toured extensively with a diverse array of artists, including Alice Cooper, Eric Church, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, ZZ Top and Evanescence. To date they’ve played more than 2,500 shows around the world, including performances at major festivals like Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival and Taste of Chaos. The band have had an impressive last ten years scoring a Grammy for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance in 2013, while 2016 saw Lzzy take out the prestigious title of the “Dimebag Darrell Shredder of the Year” at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2016.
Both Halestorm and The Strange Case of… were certified Gold, further evidencing Halestorm’s massively supportive fanbase.
Frontwoman Lzzy Hale has seen the band make history with Halestorm crowned as the first-ever female-fronted group to earn the top spot on Active Rock Radio with their track Love Bites (So Do I), from The Strange Case of….
Hale has been praised by The Guardian “Few voices in rock are as dynamic as Lzzy Hale’s. Her range takes lesser bands to the cleaners and then tosses them roadside from a 1972 Pontiac.“
Australia’s Wall of Sound saw the band perform at Download Festival Australia a performance which was described to have ‘brought the mayhem’ and ‘saw fans respond accordingly to the request for horns up by the self-described crazy chick onstage’.
The tour presented by MJR Presents by arrangement with UTA promises to bring the ruckus and is a show not to be missed!
