The only drink anyone will be shaking up at Townsville’s live music venue The Venue (formerly Bombay Rock and The Playpen) in the future will be protein shakes, not cocktails.
The property, which has been “unofficially officially” on the market for several years, has been sold to local Strand Fitness owner Dean Bodle, who plans to turn the multi-level CBD building into a health and fitness centre.
While we here at Girl HQ support both kinds of six pack, we are mourning the loss of one of the most iconic and best live music venues in the city.
