Two of the world’s festival heavyweights dropped their much-anticipated 2015 lineups yesterday.
Australia’s own Splendour in the Grass, to be held at the North Byron Parklands from 24-26 July, announced Brit-pop pack Blur, indie darlings (and recent Coachella feature) Florence + The Machine and Uptown Funk super-producer Mark Ronson as headliners for the three-day event.
Other artists announced include Of Monsters & Men, The Wombats, Tame Impala, Peking Duk, Ryan Adams, Flight Facilities, Royal Blood, Death Cab For Cutie, Boy & Bear, The Dandy Warhols, Xavier Rudd & The United Nations, Azealia Banks, Alison Wonderland, Thundamentals, San Cisco, The Grates, Last Dinosaurs, Megan Washington, Paul Mac and Dustin Tebbutt.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, Glastonbury dropped a lineup like Splendour on steroids.
Florence + The Machine and Mark Ronson will also headline the UK festival, to be held from 24-28 June at Worthy Farm, England, and will be joined by the likes of Foo Fighters, (former Splendour headliner) Kanye West, Lionel Richie, Motorhead, Alabama Shakes, The Chemical Brothers, Patti Smith, Pharrell Williams, Alt-J, FKA Twigs and Mary J. Blige.
Other festival crossovers include Ryan Adams, Azealia Banks and Death Cab For Cutie.
General tickets for Splendour in the Grass go on sale next Thursday, 23 April, at 9am AEST. Three day event tickets will set you back $365 + booking fees. For more information visit the official Splendour web site.
