Reputable news sources across the globe are reporting the sudden and tragic death of Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof, second daughter of Paula Yates and Bob Geldof early this morning, AEST.
A day ago, Geldof posted a photo of herself as a child in her late mother’s arms on her Instagram account.
Reports suggest Geldof was found deceased by paramedics responding to an emergency call reporting concern for the welfare of a woman at an address in Kent, south-east of London.
A statement from Kent Police said the model, writer, television presenter and mother of two said the death was “unexplained and sudden.”
Bob Geldof has released a statement on behalf of the family:
“Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
Writing “was” destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.
Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.
Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.”
Geldof’s husband Thomas Cohen, vocalist of former post-punk band S.C.U.M, also paid tribute to his wife in an emotional statement, saying, “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever. Thomas, Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen.”
