FESTIVAL ALERT: Wildflower 2022

THE inaugural Wildflower festival proudly celebrates women in music, featuring the likes of Missy Higgins, Kasey Chambers, Kate Miller-Heidke and more.

The first of four shows in the inaugural Wildflower music festival will kick off this weekend at Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley.

Wildflower promises to bring together some of Australia’s favourite female singer-songwriters at some of the country’s most beautiful locations.

Featuring Missy Higgins, Kasey Chambers, Kate Miller-Heidke, Sarah Blasko, Thornbird, Deborah Conway, Alice Skye and Shannen James – who was today announced to be opening the Victorian show – the festival will take over Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley on March 12th, before moving on to Riverstage in Brisbane on March 19th with Caitlyn Shadbolt opening, then Roche Estate in the Hunter Valley on April 2nd and Craigmoor Wines in Mudgee on October 29th with Georgia June opening for both.

Comedian and radio personality Gen Fricker will be taking on the duty of MC for all four events.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of Wildflower.  All the women involved are total inspirations and some were actually really big influences on me in the early days of my career,” said Missy Higgins.

“I’m looking forward to performing alongside such a stellar lineup of Australian women.”

“The line-up contains some of my musical and personal heroes, as well as some dear friends, and it’s going to be unforgettable not just for the audience but for us as well,” added Kate Miller-Heidke, who will kick off her rescheduled Child In Reverse tour in July 2022.

“It’s been a rough couple of years, and I can’t think of a more beautiful catharsis than being a part of this festival. It’s impossible for me to overstate how much I’m looking forward to it. Humans need connection. Wildflower will be a celebration of everything that brings people together. I’m actually choking up slightly at the mere thought of it!”
