APC Turfs Camera-Weilding Fans

It’s no secret that A Perfect Circle/Tool/Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan is a little camera-shy.

A venue in Pennsylvania kicked more than 60 punters out of a show on the weekend, enforcing APC’s strict no-photos policy.

To be fair, the back of every seat in Santander Arena included a sign warning fans that taking photos or video would “result in ejection”.

Venue manager David Farrar confirmed on Instagram that the venue “tossed over 60 people last night for taking pics,” saying, “This was 110 percent the band’s policy… it’s not a new policy.”

One fan took to the venue’s Facebook post to complain, writing: “I was thrown out by six Reading police officers for taking pictures. No warning, they blamed the band. Never in 35 years of concert going have I have been treated so poorly. I won’t be back.”

Another commented on Instagram: “People were getting kicked out left and right for this.. and the security’s flashlights hunting for people taking pictures were more distracting than cell phones in my opinion.”

The band has not yet released an official statement after the criticism of their policy.

Perhaps the next step would be a phone-free policy, like the one Alicia Keys trialled last year.
