Fall Out Boy Announce Aussie Tour

In the worst-kept secret this year, American rockers Fall Out Boy are heading Down Under for four mammoth all-ages shows early next year.

Rumours have been circulating since earlier this month, when Ticketmaster allegedly leaked their Brisbane Riverstage date:

Yesterday, the band posted the following on Twitter:

This morning, Select Touring and Blue Murder confirmed the rumours, announcing shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in February and March.

The Grammy-winning act has released six chart-topping albums, and hasn’t been to Australia since a Soundwave appearance in 2015. Their new album, M A N I A, is set for release in September.

Young and Menace and its follow up, Champion, are the first two singles off their forthcoming album which is their most adventurous and ambitious to date. The record is an ode to what the band does best Рreinvent themselves. This time around Fall Out Boy set out to unite both the personal with the political, mixing lyrics that are poignant and nostalgic with a heavy dose of cultural commentary.

Joining the tour will be Brisbane’s very own vibe-punks WAAX. Following the release of their punchy five track Wild & Weak EP earlier this year, the five-piece sold out shows across the country and have since become seasoned favourites on Triple J and radio nationwide. Helmed by the formidable and ferocious Marie DeVita, WAAX is a live force to be reckoned with.

Tickets to the M A N I A tour go on sale Monday 17th July at 11am EST for members pre-sale and Thursday 20 July at 9am local time for general public.
