Well, no surprises here.
Federal Member for Dawson George Christensen has proven once and for all how out of touch he is with reality in a Facebook post that somehow links a step forward for Queensland’s LGBTQIA teens with… pedophilia.
The post comes following news that QLD has finally caught up with the rest of the country and lowered the age of consent for anal sex from 18 to 16 years.
Queensland Parliament voted to amend the law (which also replaces the word “sodomy” with “anal intercourse”) yesterday, with all Labor and independent MPs along with 28 LNP politicians voting in favour of the change. Two reps from Bob Katter’s Australian Party opposed the change. Of course.
While the debate for marriage equality still rages, we now have to deal with archaic opinions like Christensen’s being aired.
